Why-

Reading an old book comes with innumerable questions. What exactly was the person feeling when they wrote, "I hope you read this book, Anu..." on the first page of the book.
Perhaps this book was a gift.
A birthday gift?
Or an apology, maybe.
I bought this book in 2018 from College street, kolkata. It was for 50 bucks.
Only 50 for intruding into a stranger's memory.
The yellow colour of the pages are saying they are from the early 90s or late 80s. They can't recall.
Why are the pages marked? Why did a Anu mark the lines that seem insignificant to me?
Termites have made their way through the pages and lost their ways in the painting of the artist, the protagonist of the book, has painted. Maybe?
Why did Anu sell the book? I immediately didn't like her if she did. Perhaps the book was sold in her absence. Maybe she wanted to lose the memories of the friend who gave her the book.

I don't understand. Do I want to know her? All these questions are comforting. It is comforting because I know a certain answer of never finding an answer.

After two days of reading an absent story of the book, I am going to read the story that is in the book. Tonight.
