Half-done Storytelling

Can you tell me what happens to a half written story?
An Incomplete one.
Do the characters have a half life?
Or did they just didn't exist at all?
Conceived in my mind and born in a tiny folder of my computer, never got to come out of it.
(yet)
I had never thought of their survival.
Maybe I haven't thought that someday I have to buy air for them to breathe.
how long do you think can they survive being half-written?
Are they running out of breath?
Do they have the privilege to wonder about their future?
Or they have just given up on existence?
Maybe they are just loosing out on their essence.

Would you like to read about a protagonist that has lost all desires to be read?

This (poem) full of of questions is the sigh of my heart
That do not cry any anymore
Just wonders like a pendulum between Non-written existences and Half-written (un)existences.

The characters of my stories I have left writing midway.
Most of them have been "I".
